Eco-Friendly Rubberwood

Rubberwood is one of the more durable lumbers used in the manufacturing of today’s home furnishings. It is strong, flexible, resistant to fungus, bacteria and mold.  Unlike other woods that are cut down for the sole purpose of producing furniture, rubberwood is used only after it has been exhausted of its sap.  Rubberwood is harvested for their latex and generally completes its latex producing cycle between 25-30 years. In the past, the trees would be cut and burned.  Today, the wood is being used for furniture, flooring, construction and toys.
